day THREE night walking weekend |
The
group will be based at the Dilkhusa
Grand in Ilfracombe (Friday 14th, Saturday
15th and Sunday 16th September). This Shearings Hotel is well
used to catering for groups and their ALL INCLUSIVE charge
is a very reasonable £40 per person per night. In addition
to dinner, bed and breakfast there is a packed lunch and a
free bar (see opposite). The total
cost is therefore only £120. All rooms are en suite
and a mixture of doubles and twins have been booked. Further

| The
four days of walking in North Devon and the western edge of
Exmoor will be structured to suit a range of walking abilities.
Full details of the walks as they evolve will be posted on
this website page and all participants will be sent final
details by the end of June.
Two walks, one short, one longer are available on each
of the four days. |

Ilfracombe,
with its ancient harbour which bursts into life with pleasure
craft in the summer, flower decked promenade and narrow streets
lined with shops and cafes, is a restful resort. Standing on
the level seafront, not more than a few minutes' walk from the
town centre and harbour, just over the road from Runneymede
Gardens and the new Landmark entertainment centre with its theatre,
cinema and Winter Gardens, is the imposing Dilkhusa Grand, which
enjoys picturesque views over the colourful Runneymede Gardens.
There's a sense of traditional elegance amongst the hotels smart
public rooms, which include the entertainment room, where dancing
is always popular, spacious restaurant, games lounge and bar,
which is perfect to rest in after a fun-filled day spent sightseeing.
The Hotel’s
Car Park, which has limited space, is located at the side of
the building. If full, a public car park (parking charges apply)
is located approximately 300 yards from the hotel.
