Sunday 4th January      Easy with low or short hills. 6.5 to 7 miles    4 hours

Short First:  Lympsham – Brent Knoll.  Footpaths and tracks to Brent Knoll, 2 short climbs, 1 steep decent and return over fields to Lympsham.  Possibly muddy in places with 2 locked gates to climb over. Bring picnic lunch.  Please note this is Ann and Ron’s first walk so come along and support them. Dogs allowed under control.

Meet:  10:30 Lympsham village car park adjacent to cricket club.

Alternative walk:  Around Holcombe.  An undulating walk giving great views weather permitting.  Picnic lunch. No Dogs.

Meet:  09:30 British Legion club car park, Stratton on the Fosse.  Route:  Approaching Stratton from Radstock turn left after the Kings Arms, down South Street to car park on right.

Sunday 11th January  Easy walk with low or short hills             9 miles          5 hrs

Priddy and Ebbor Gorge.  Nine Barrows and the Gorge reserve; some road walking, some mud! Perhaps some views.

Meet:  10.00 a.m. Car park/picnic area between Priddy and Ebor Gorge CP, just South of Moor View.  No dogs allowed.

Sunday 11th January Moderate hilly walk     10 miles           5 hrs

Alternative walk:  Porlock Way (otherwise known as ‘David’s walk’).  Through Selworthy. A well known walk with some of the veterans but not completed for some time.

Meet:  10.00 a.m. Headon Cross. A39, past Dunster, through outskirts of Minehead to crossroads (Headon Cross). Park on LH grass verge.  Dogs allowed under control.   Explorer OL9 Grid Ref. ST936459.

Axbridge area.  Fields, quiet lanes and tracks.  Dogs allowed under control.

North Widcombe – A circle in the high land above Chew Valley Lake between Bishop Sutton and Hinton Blewitt. Possible pub stop.

Meet:  10:00 a.m. Herriotts Bridge, Chew Valley lake on the causeway.

Alternative walk:  The Tortworth Chestnut.  A stroll through woods, along lanes and river banks. An undulating walk with one climb. Picnic lunch with possible pub nearby.
