a climb up Hellenge Hill to admire the views then returning, all limbered

Hill. An
undulating walk with some ‘steepish’ ascents and descents. A mixture of open moorland and woodland. Dogs allowed under control. Meet: 10:00 Hawkridge Reservoir. A39 from Bridgwater then turn left opposite
the ‘Pace‘ garage signposted ‘Durleigh’.
Continue along the Spaxton Road to the Reservoir. Explorer 140

23rd September Cancer Research Winscombe–Wavering
Down-Winscombe Drove. Moderate 9 miles Today’s walk is on behalf of Cancer Research
UK. £5 registration fee (See information
below) A walk along tracks and fields with three
short steep climbs. Wide ranging
views, some stiles. Bring a picnic
lunch. Free tea at the end of the walk. Shirley will be sponsoring this walk. All
participants must register beforehand. Meet:
Leader: Shirley On the 2nd and 23rd September
there will be a series of 11 sponsored, guided circular walks led by
the Weston Walking Group. Anyone wishing to participate in these walks
is requested to contact Edie Vernon on telephone 01934 814514 for a
full programme of the walks and to register. You must register as it
is an officially recognised sponsorship. A £5 registration fee, which
will go to the charity ‘Cancer Research Sunday 30 September. Moderate to Hard 13 miles

Gloucestershire An Autumn treat to an area seldom trodden
by Woodspring Ramblers. The walk
takes us across open fields to the Wetmoor Nature Reserve then to Hawkesbury
Upton for lunch (Pub available). Returning
via the Cotswold and Monarch’s Ways to Chipping Sodbury. No dogs allowed. Meet:
09:30 Chipping Sodbury main car park by the Church. Explorer 167 Grid
Ref: ST727825. Leave M4 at J18, follow A46 North for approx.
3 miles, turn left onto A432, follow signs to Chipping Sodbury town
centre. Travel along the main
street a few yards and turn right to the free car park.
(As you approach Chipping
Sodbury heading west on the A432 you will see a Church which is next
