The Ramblers' Association is a national organisation which exists to facilitate the enjoyment and discovery on foot of Britain's countryside.
Welcome to Norton Radstock Ramblers

What do we offer

Our group arranges a walk every other Sunday throughout the year. Our walks are mainly 6 to 8 miles with an occasional longer one with some shorter half day walks in the winter. All our walks start at Pows Orchard Car park, Midsomer Norton, where we meet to car share to the walk start proper. We recommend that all walkers wear walking boots and adequate walking clothes and carry waterproofs, also that they carry a sandwich lunch where necessary and plenty of drink. Dogs on leads are allowed on walks but please check  with the walk leader about this and any other information that you might need.

What is Norton Radstock Ramblers.

Norton Radstock is one of a network of groups in the country which are part of the Ramblers’ Association, the national charity working for walkers. After you have walked with our group for a few times, we hope that you will then join the R.A. and automatically become a member of your local group. Most of our members live in and around Midsomer Norton.

What are the benefits of joining the Ramblers Ass.

All members are sent free of charge the local walks programme and a walking handbook full of essential information about walking in Britain. There is also a quarterly magazine full of news about our campaigning work and the world of walking. Many of the outdoor shops (including Blacks and Millets) give a 10% discount on purchases by R.A. members, and the London office has a library of walking maps for loan.   Most of all, your subscription helps to protect footpaths from closure, preserves the countryside and increases  access to open areas on foot.
