Walks Programme  :  AUGUST  to  NOVEMBER  2009
Programme Secretary’s notes
SATURDAY WALKS.   These are proving very popular with more and more people joining in; on this programme, there is only one Saturday when a walk is not scheduled   The walks will live up to our name of Ramblers with plenty of opportunity to stop, take photos, enjoy the surroundings and the views, ideal for anyone embarking on walking as a new pastime.   There are still some Summer months when we can enjoy a picnic on the way and these walks will generally start at 10 am; if a pub lunch is planned, the walk will start at 9 am
KOPO  (keep our paths open). Thank you to everyone who has joined in with this project;  it is proving useful in identifying paths which have not been regularly used.  To avoid any confusion over the date of the walk each month, they will be held on the first Thursday each month.  We will start from SHCP at 0915 hrs and plan to walk some 5 or 6 miles.  Sometimes difficulty with paths can lead to the walk talking a little longer than the average walking speed so it is as well to bring a snack with you, in case the walk is not completed by lunch time.
SUNDAY walks are usually longer and more strenuous, which can be gauged by the ‘Grade’ applied to the walk. Lunch is generally picnic style on the way

Every effort is made to adhere to the printed programme but sometimes a change is necessary;  when there is sufficient time to do so I give notice of any changes, using e-mail or by handing out printed slips.  However, you may care to check on the day before by phoning me or by logging onto our website
